Quality Reports Explained
Learn how the TruCrafters Quality Engine calculates 0 to 100 durability scores based on raw materials, joinery engineering, workshop provenance, and repairability.
Understanding the 0 to 100 Quality Score
Every scanned product receives an objective composite score calculated from five fundamental craftsmanship pillars: raw material durability, joinery stress ratings, origin transparency, fair price realism, and repairability.
The 5 Quality Engine Pillars
Solid domestic hardwoods, full-grain veg-tanned leathers, 5-ply clad cookware vs hollow MDF and synthetic PU.
Traceable manufacturing origins to certified heritage mills and artisan workshops over unverified drop-shipping.
Evaluation of bill of materials against retail pricing to detect inflated brand markups on disposable materials.
Mortise-and-tenon, sliding dovetails, double-welt stitching vs staples, plastic brackets, and contact cement.
Warranty backing, availability of replacement parts, and documented commitment to repairable longevity.
Composite Score Tiers
Solid domestic hardwoods, full-grain hides, 316 stainless steel. Mortise-and-tenon or dovetail joinery. 50+ year expected lifespan with generational repairability.
Exceptional materials, precision machining, minor secondary materials (e.g., Baltic birch drawer bottoms). 25+ year expected lifespan.
Solid craftsmanship, robust commercial hardware, durable finishes. 15-20 year expected lifespan under standard residential use.
Standard commercial veneers over engineered cores, dowel joinery, acceptable entry hardware. 5-10 year lifespan.
Hollow particleboard, plastic cams, bonded/PU leather, unrepairable construction. High landfill probability within 1-3 years.
